Create Capital.com API credentials for TradingView webhook automation

Generate a Capital.com API key so TradeAdapter can route TradingView to Capital.com alerts on CFDs - shares, indices, commodities, forex and crypto - with no-code trading automation.

Step 1

Open API integrations in your Capital.com settings

Sign in to Capital.com, open the account menu at the top right, go to Settings and choose API integrations to start your tradingview webhook automation setup. Press Generate API key.

  • Two-factor authentication must be switched on for the account before Capital.com lets you generate an API key

Step 2

Set a custom password for the key

Give the key a label you will recognise later and set a custom password for it. This API key password is what TradeAdapter logs in with - it is not your Capital.com account login password.

  • The expiration date is optional - a key that expires stops your alerts on that date until you save a new one under My Brokers
  • Capital.com issues keys with Trade permission only, so the key cannot withdraw funds

Step 3

Generate a demo key on the demo account

Capital.com Demo is a separate account with its own API host. To test with demo orders, generate a second key from the demo dashboard: a live key does not log in on the demo host, and a demo key does not log in on the live one.

Step 4

Save API credentials securely

Copy the API key and the custom password right away - Capital.com shows them only once. Keep three values together: your Capital.com login email, the API key and the API key password. You enter them once under My Brokers, then continue to real-time trade execution webhook setup.
