Connect TradingView alerts to Bitfinex

Route alerts through a saved TradeAdapter Strategy for Bitfinex spot and perpetual futures in Live or Paper mode.

Step 1

Connect the correct Bitfinex account

Create and test your Bitfinex connection under My Brokers. Select Live for your live key or Paper for a Paper Trading sub-account key. The account mode and instrument must agree; a Paper connection cannot trade a live instrument.

Step 2

Save your market, instrument and order settings

Create a Strategy on your saved Bitfinex broker. Choose Spot or Futures (perpetual derivatives), an instrument from Supported symbols, order type and sizing. Use the exact symbol shown, including its t prefix, colon and F0 segments where present. Paper instruments use TEST assets. Spot trades use exchange wallet balances; Futures uses derivative collateral such as USTF0, which is separate from spot USDt.

  • Market and limit entries are supported, along with stop and stop-limit entries. A stop uses a trigger; a stop-limit also needs a limit price.
  • For Futures, configure entry leverage from 1–100, default 10. Instrument limits, position size and available collateral can require lower leverage. Leverage does not move collateral between wallets.
  • Futures positions are net positions per instrument. Opposite trades reduce, close or reverse that net position; there is no simultaneous long/short hedge mode.
  • Percentage balance sizing is available in both markets, using the selected market's available wallet balance. Futures collateral and spot balances are separate. Execution records capture fills and fees; a submitted order is not yet a fill.
  • Close and position synchronization use actual account holdings or the net Futures position. TradeAdapter cancels the instrument's outstanding orders before closing, and waits for a flat position before a reversal entry.
Step 3

Create a TradingView alert

Attach your Pine strategy to the intended chart and create a strategy order-fill alert. Copy the alert message generated by your saved TradeAdapter Strategy and use your personal TradeAdapter webhook URL in TradingView's webhook notification field. Keep the TradingView placeholders unchanged.

Step 4

Verify the alert using a Paper account

Start with a Paper connection and a matching TEST instrument. Check the order result and fills in TradeAdapter and Bitfinex. A submitted order may remain open or fill partially. Recreate the TradingView alert after changing its strategy parameters or message.

TradingView strategy alert message

Credentials stay on the broker saved under My Brokers. Replace bitfinex-momentum with your saved Strategy name. This basic example uses the strategy's configured market and instrument with quantity from the alert. For limit, stop or stop-limit orders, protection or position synchronization, copy the generated message from your Strategy so the required price and position fields are included.

Protection and take-profit targets

Automatic protection can be attached to a Market entry after its complete fill and actual account holdings or position are confirmed. Limit, stop and stop-limit entries with automatic protection are refused; these pending entries do not provide a native entry-triggered bracket.

  • Spot: a single Stop Loss or Take Profit is supported. A paired Stop Loss and Take Profit uses native OCO, reserving the holdings once; any partial or full fill cancels the sibling. A Take Profit ladder without Stop Loss divides the available holdings among its targets. A Spot ladder combined with Stop Loss is unavailable.
  • Futures: Stop Loss, Take Profit and Take Profit ladders use opposite-side reduce-only orders. A ladder can be combined with Stop Loss; exits reduce the current net position instead of opening an opposite position. The concentration limit is available for Futures.

Percentage trailing stops and delayed activation are unavailable. Bitfinex's native trailing stop follows a fixed price distance. It does not provide a percentage callback or delayed activation through that native order. Native OCO pairs also do not create an entry-triggered bracket. Only enable protection and trailing settings supported by the TradeAdapter Strategy for the selected market.
