Create a Bitfinex API key for TradeAdapter

Sign in to Bitfinex. For simulated trading, first create a Paper Trading sub-account and switch to it before creating credentials. Paper and live accounts use separate keys. TradeAdapter checks the account mode and refuses a key that does not match the selected mode.

Open your Bitfinex API key management page and select Create New Key. Give the key a clear label such as TradeAdapter. Use a dedicated key for TradeAdapter: sharing it with another trading service can cause nonce conflicts, because Bitfinex requires every authenticated request on a key to use an increasing nonce.

Enable the following permissions, leaving other write permissions disabled:

• Account Info — Read for account identity and mode checks.
• Orders — Read and Write to view, create, update and cancel orders.
• Wallets — Read for available balances and sizing.
• Trades / Account History — Read for executed trades and fees.
• Margin Trading — Read for Futures position and collateral information.
• Withdraw — disabled. TradeAdapter does not need withdrawal or wallet transfer permissions.

Generate the key and complete Bitfinex's security and email confirmation steps. Copy the API key and API secret when displayed; Bitfinex shows the secret only once. Store them securely. Do not put credentials into TradingView alerts.

Open My Brokers, add Bitfinex and enter the key and secret. Select Live or Paper to match the account that issued the key, then test the connection and save it. Paper Trading uses the same Bitfinex API service as live trading; it is the account and test instruments that distinguish the modes.
