FAQ

TradingView to OKX questions

Yes. TradeAdapter receives your TradingView alert by webhook and places the order on OKX through its API. It supports strategy alerts on OKX Spot and Swap.

Spot and Swap. The symbols available in each market are listed in the TradeAdapter documentation.

In your OKX profile open API and connections and create a key used for API trading: tick the Trade permission, choose Spot & Margin and, for perpetuals, Perpetual, set a passphrase and add the TradeAdapter IP address under Trusted IP addresses.

No. You save the OKX API key once under My Brokers and create a Strategy there with the market, ticker, order type and quantity. The TradingView alert only names that Strategy, so no key travels in an alert.

No. TradingView sends the alert from its servers and TradeAdapter places the order on OKX, so your browser and computer can be closed. You need a TradingView plan that includes webhook alerts.

OKX requires at least 100 USD on the account before the key can be created, and the form does not submit with an empty coin list. A key with trade permission and no trusted IP expires after 14 days of inactivity; one bound to the TradeAdapter IP address does not expire.
